Township of Georgian Bay

The Township of Georgian Bay is just beginning to develop trails on municipal lands. Visitors to the Township will see the many changes and developments around the region, including ongoing trail development.

Our municipality has third party trails in the form of MNR lands and Six Mile Provincial Park trails. We continue to work toward a connective trail system and active transportation routes that meander throughout the Georgian Bay landscapes. Access to Trail / Parking

Port Severn is located off of Hwy 400 at Exit 156. The trail head is near to the exit, it is located on Violet Drive, located off of Honey Harbour Rd.

Trail Description / Key Points of Interest:

The trail winds its way through the wilderness of the Georgian Bay landscape. The trail surface is crushed screenings and there is a water crossing boardwalk halfway down the trail that traverses a significant water course. There are many species native to the area that can be seen while spending time on the trail. The former Point aux Pins School House location is a focal point of this trail. Signage is in place at the site that describes the history of the school. The trail also extends parallel along Honey Harbour Rd. and provides access to the Baxter Ward Community Centre.

Port Severn Walk

Access to Trail / Parking

Port Severn is located off of Hwy 400 at Exit 156. The trail head is located at Lock 45 on the Trenth-Severn Waterway, located on Port Severn Rd. The trail will take you to Lone Pine Rd where the Municipal Tourism Office is located. You can also take the trail to Baxtar Ward Community Centre, which is further down the Honey Harbour Rd.

Trail Description / Key Points of Interest:

The village of Port Severn is in the process of exciting new development. This development is comprised of residential and commercial development with a waterfront park and other parkettes as well as a village square. The urban trails are part of this development and currently under construction.
