Fairy Vista Trail

Trail Description / Key Points of Interest:

The Fairy Vista Trail is a paved, multi-use path that is suitable for walking, running, cycling, in-line skating, baby strollers, wheel chairs, etc. in the summer and showshoeing and cross-country skiing in the winter. It is part of the Park to Park Trail that runs through Huntsville.

The trail runs parallel to Hwy 60 through fields with views of Fairy Lake, through hardwood forests, abandoned farm field, through wetlands and coniferous forests.

Trans Canada Trail - Huntsville Section

Parking for this section of the Trans Canada Trail is the same as parking for the Hunter's Bay Trail. The lot at KWH Park is located on the south side of Centre Street just east of the bridge.

Trail Description / Key Points of Interest:

This section of the Trans Canada Trail winds its way right through downtown Huntsville. Enjoy the many shops and sights as you travel from on side of town to the other.

Hunter's Bay Trail

Parking is available at Avery Beach at the lake side of Yonger St., KWH Park off of Centre St., and at Orchard Park on East Airport Rd.

Trail Description / Key Points of Interest:

The Hunter's Bay Trail is a walking, running, cycling trail and is part of the 52 kilometres of Trans Canada Trail that runs through Huntsville. The trail starts at the Centre Street Bridge beside KWH Pipe and runs along beside the river, under the railway trestle, along the east side of Hunter's Bay, through Avery Beach Park, and onwards to the Hwy 11 corridor. There is a 137 metre (450 ft) section of the trail that floats on Hunter's Bay. The floating part of the trail is an ideal place to swim or fish from, or to tie up a boat and walk along the trail. There are small pull-offs along the trail to stop and enjoy the scenery including Orchard Park at the southern tip of the bay, which looks down the full length of the bay.

Yonge Street Trail

Parking for this trail is located at the dead-end on Yonge Street where the pavement ends.

Trail Description / Key Points of Interest:

The Yonge Street Trail is a cleared, wooded trail with a few creek crossings. There are slight downhill and uphill sections. The route is easy to navigate north-south. This walk is family friendly. It is also suitable for mountain biking.

Huntsville Murals Walk

Parking is available at the rear of the Town Hall building (off of High St.), located in the heart of downtown Huntsville on Main St.

Trail Description / Key Points of Interest:

The landscapes around Huntsville inspired Canada's impressionists. Huntsville's Group of Seven Outdoor Gallery celebrates these painters. Observe and enjoy over 20 mural creations as you stroll around the downtown area during this walk. Begin and end this walk at the Town Hall.

Lions Lookout Trail

The trail can be accessed at the Forbes Hill Drive and Camp Kitchen Road intersection behind the Active Living Centre at the Canada Summit Centre.

Trail Description / Key Points of Interest:

The trail follows Camp Kitchen Road along the Muskoka River to Fairy Lake. It then crosses the Portage Flyer railway tracks and heads up a steep slope to the top of the sports track. The trail continues around the track and along the roadway to Forbes Hill Drive. The view from the top of the track across Fairy Lake is magnificent.
