Town of BracebridgeWelcome to Bracebridge, where all trails lead to spectacular waterfalls! Known as The Heart of Muskoka, Bracebridge offers fabulous trails leading to stunning views of big-time waterfalls like Duck Chutes, High Falls, Wilson’s Falls, and Bracebridge Falls.

Bracebridge is at the confluence of two large rivers, where long stretches of serene riverside hiking is almost always underscored by the distant thunder of falling water. Bracebridge also offers many kilometers of forested trails, great for fresh-air family outings, birding, Nordic skiing, and reveling in the autumn colour spectacular. If you love the outdoors, you can’t miss Bracebridge, a great four-season trails destination.

Wilson's Falls

Access to Trail / Parking

The trail head is located at Macaulay Public School on Cedar Lane near Taylor Road (near Hwy 11). A "Wilson's Falls Trail" sign is posted on the top left corner of the school building at the end of the parking lot next to the playground. Additional access points include: End of Wilshier Blvd., Rogers Rd. by Dawson Crescent, Granite Heights by Wilshier Blvd., end of Sander Drive, end of Wilson's Falls Rd. via Trans Canada Trail, and the Sportsplex.

Trail Description / Key Points of Interest:

Forested landscape beside the Muskoka River by Wilson's Falls. Lots of steep hills and difficult terrain. These interconnecting trails offer a number of route options for hikers. Check out the new extension to Douglas Drive and the Sportsplex.

Trans Canada Trail / Strawberry Point Trail

Take Beaumont Drive from the lights at Wellington St. and Ecclestone Dr. Turn left onto Stephen's Bay Rd. and again onto Strawberry Bay Rd. You will find a parking lot and signs marking the trail. Hike up Strawberry Bay Rd. and walk up Strawberry Lane to the lookout point or travel along Strawberry Bay Rd. towards Kerr Park at the end of Henry Rd.

Trail Description / Key Points of Interest:

This trail traverses country lanes and wooded areas of evergreens and hardwoods before reaching a height of land that provides a panoramic view of Lake Muskoka. The trail continues to the lake and offers a site suitable for a picnic or a refreshing swim.

Bracebridge Resource Management Center Trails

Parking is available on site. The Centre is located east of Hwy 11 North, 2.5 kms past the Hwy 117 turn off on the right hand side. Follow the driveway into the parking lot.

Trail Description / Key Points of Interest:

The Centre provides 16.5 kms of top-notch winter groomed x-country skiing and spring to fall hiking and mountain biking trails. The area features attractive wooded areas, a variety of flora, fauna, and bird life as well as scenic vistas along the Muskoka River.

South Monck Trail / Covered Bridge Trail

Travel west along Muskoka Rd. 118. Turn north on West Mall Rd. Take next right on Balls Dr. Make a quick left on Tamarack Trail Rd. Park at Monsignor Michael O'Leary school. Join trail across from the school along Tamarack Trail Rd. Additional access points include Glendale Rd., Patricia Parkway and Meadow Heights Dr., Bracebridge Municipal Cemetary, Crawford Rd., and South Monck Drive.

Trail Description / Key Points of Interest:

Trail travels on roadways, pipeline open fields and through forested area. Varying surfaces from pavement to dirt to difficult terrain. These two trails offer various access points. The South Monck area is especially popular with mountain bikers.

Bracebridge Sportsplex Walk

Parking is available at the Sportsplex at the north end of the trail, or on Manitoba St. at the south end of the trail.

This paved trail which parallels Manitoba St. is a family friendly route that takes you to the Sportsplex. Looking to explore a little further? The Sportsplex property links to the Wilson's Falls Trail.

Bracebridge Bay Trail

There is ample parking at Bay Park on Wharf Rd. Take either Manitoba St. or Ecclestone Dr. to the four way stop sign at Manitoba St., Ontario St. and Ecclestone Dr. After a quick turn down Wharf Rd., you will end up at the parking lot entrance.

Trail Description / Key Points of Interest:

This trail travels along the Muskoka River and around Bracebridge Bay. The surface is pavement and gravel. The only incline is the stairs by Bracebridge Falls. Ten historic information plaques identify points of interest along the route.

Bracebridge Walk
